Bassenthwaite lies in the Northern Lake District alongside the beautiful extinct volcano, Skiddaw. At the North end, the peaceful village of Bassenthwaite and to the South, the Lake District town of Keswick.
This is a multi shot panorama taken late one night showing, I think, the beautify of the place at night. To the right, the lights of a bus near Ouse Bridge light the road alongside the lake with Orion (The Hunter)shining high above. The bright star to the left is Sirius, the dog star, the brightest star in the sky. To the left of this you can see the lights of road works on the A66 near Dubwath creating the bright burst of light. More light trails from passing cars along the road to Keswick and trails in the sky of the aircraft flying over the Lake District draw you into the shot. To the left you can see Skiddaw, Ullock Pike & Little Dodd that flank the lake on its Eastern shores and in the distance the lights of Keswick as Jupiter shines on the left of shot above Skiddaw.
