The Tree on the Hill Spring Arch
‘The Tree on the Hill Spring Arch’
The Northern fell’s of the Lake District one April night, looking south to Skiddaw and the lights of Keswick. The Hill’s of Binsey, Camp Hill and Caer Mote (location of a Roman Fort) and on the far right, Sale Fell, Barf, Lord’s Seat & Grizedale Pike can also be seen. You can just see the water of Bassenthwaite Lake.
In the sky from left to right of the arch you can see Perseus, with Capella to the left and Camelopardalis above. Moving right you can see Cassiopeia (the mother of Andromeda in Greek mythology) and to the right of this, Lacerta & above the tree, Cygnus (The Swan) with Vega shining brightly above. Moving right you next see Vulpecula & Sagita, then Aquila. Above the core you can see Ophiuchus & Serpens.
