The Total Solar Eclipse 12 August 2026
Taken near Burgos, Spain
A while before sunset on the 12th of August, near Burgos in Spain, I watched the total solar eclipse from a dusty hillside in the blazing heat. I had travelled there with my camera’s, hoping to capture my first total eclipse
It was so worth it…..
Here you can see some of the stages just as Totality hits. In the centre 3 photographs you can see the Outer Corona of the Sun, only visible during this rare event. Taken using a tracking mount to allow for longer exposures to capture the faint detail. The outer two have the Corona but also with The Diamond Ring where the last, or first rays of sun shine around the moon to create the ‘diamond’. A brief but beautiful moment. The final two show the massive Prominences clearly as well as The Diamond Ring
