The total solar eclipse, taken near Burgos in Spain 12th August 2026
A selection of some of my favourite images from the 2026 eclipse. In the very centre you can see the Outer Corona of our Sun, only visible during totality & a shot I have always wanted to capture.. The other shots shows the Diamond Ring stages as well as some beautiful details like Bailey’s Beads. These are actually caused by the sun shining through the mountains and valleys of the moon. A brief but beautiful part of the eclipse. I’ve also added photos showing the massive prominences that protrude from the surface of the Sun and are actually cool ribbons of plasma, measuring tens of thousands of miles and sometimes lasting for weeks
I am so happy with what I was able to capture during this eclipse. Plans are already afoot for the next in North Africa 2027
Everything is printed using the finest papers & ink so will never fade
All mounts are a light Ivory mount
Frames are traditional Oak or Painted Black
Both standard glass & ART glass are UV resistant
Everything is made locally to the highest standard using Cumbrian businesses
