Orion Starscape over Castlerigg

from £65.00

'Orion Starscape over Castlerigg'

Orion, The Hunter shines brightly above the Neolithic stone circle of Castlerigg. The stones date from around 3-5000 years ago and are a place I like to visit to see the stars shine above the Lake District. Its a special place and you can feel the history when standing near the stones. I often think about the people who have stood in the same place over the ages and watched the heavens move across the sky. We have some light pollution here in the Lakes but we still do get nice dark skies and beautiful stars above the Lakeland mountains and hills.

Orion is a special constellation to me, its only visible in the UK over the winter and it contains the brightest Nebula we can see, The Orion Nebula. It was the first deep space object (DSO) I ever imaged and one that always makes me smile when I see it return every winter. It also contains my favourite Nebulae to image, The Horsehead & Flame Nebula.

Everything is printed using the finest papers & ink so will never fade
All mounts are a light Ivory mount
Frames are traditional Oak or Painted Black
Both standard glass & ART glass are UV resistant

Everything is made locally to the highest standard using Cumbrian businesses
